Cha'kki doesn't mind the rain as much as he dislikes open bodies of water. Still he will abandon his heavy laser post as visability is terrible.
"Mav, you getting this storm where you are at? " he asks, still curious why the flock of birds kept their distance.

"Aye, do we 'ave any all weather blankets for the swivel mount?" Zagon will power down to wait out the storm.
OOC --- I whipped up a rendering of the PGC ground transport based on that fire truck:

Cha'kki rotates his arms competely around, reaches into his rear pack and pulls out the torrential rain repellant blankie. "Will this do?" he clicks to Zagon. He will try to use it to keep the rain out of the truck/off the laser.

Chicklet pulls the aviator goggles down from his leather flight helmet over his eyes in the face of the squall and shouts to Billow, "We're going to be pelted here! Shelter in the dome or the escape pod?"

Cha'kki is a bit concerned about Mav and Goos,"this storm may causing interferance with our radios!"
Cha'kki will volunteer to peek in the escape pod if the group decides to move into the dome. "if we go in, who watches truck?" |

Hands to mouth, "Escape pod. I'm not going to be forced into that dome with a loony."

[for Zagon's question about all weather blankets: There are all weather blankets in the survival kits, some of which are stowed in this ground transport.]
Billow and Chicklet slog their way through the rain and ankle deep puddles of water toward Legrange's escape pod.
[Chicklet Logic 45, roll 32 pass = finds his way to the pod] [Billow Logic 60, roll 88 fail = lost in rain, Billow Reaction Speed 55, roll 42 pass = avoids falling over cliff]
Chicklet keeps his bearings and gets into the pod safely. He finds the pod interior to be dry and reasonably sheltered. Billow, however, is less fortunate. Wet fur gets in his eyes and he wanders dangerously close to the edge of a cliff, stopping only when he sees no ground to step on. Through the rain, he hears a dull grinding sound many meters below him as if something is scraping the side of the cliff.
While covering the heavy laser, Cha'kki comms Mav and Goos to test his radio link again. Mav comes back loud and clear over the chronocom. "I'm hearing you fine, but you should be aware that we just started seeing some movement on the IR scope. The infra-red picture isn't clear due to the heavy rain, but we see something moving on the steep face of the cliff below the dome...maybe two or three large moving shapes. Whatever they are, they seem to have climbed up the cliff from the sea after the squall began."
Billow is lost in the rain. He can't remember which direction to walk in and can't see more than a meter in any direction. He does recall seeing the headlights of the ground transport just before Zagon powered down.
Chicklet is safe in Legrange's escape pod for the moment.
[I decided Logic and Reaction Speed checks made more sense than Dexterity checks for Chicklet and Billow, but the rolls and results are the same as before the edit.] |

Amping up his polyvox's volume the vrusk former smuggler shouts, "BILLOW! B-I-L-L-0-W!" into the storm and rain. He attaches the flashlight from his tool kit to the side of the pod as a "poor vrusk's emergency beacon". [he'll use either the "molecular bonding strip" or the laser welder to attach the flash light]
Chicklet props a small object in the door of the escape pod to ensure it doesn't latch shut on him the begins carefully examining the interior, looking for clues left behind.
Keying his chronocom, "Chicklet, to Zagon! Billow and I were caught in the storm, I'm sheltering in the escape pod but Billow is lost in the storm. I've set out a flashlight as a field expedient beacon for him- can you get a bead on him?" |

Cha'kki confirms Mav's last message,"Thanks Mav. We let you know how the welcome party goes."
Cha'kki looks at Zagon and Greg in the truck,"Billow needs help. Can you shine lights and I go get him?"
Once the truck lights are on he will attempt to locate Billow and help him to the truck or to the escape pod safely. |

OOC: Is the "dull grinding sound" natural or mechanical? IN:
"Chicklet. CHICKLET?" Covering head and arm, trying chronocom, "Chicklet, you there? I'm lost in the storm. I think something is coming up the cliff, I don't think the pod is safe. Chicklet? Anyone?"
Billow will attempt to remember the relation of the cliff face to the pod or dome, reorientate and walk slowly forward.

Zagon will stay with the truck.

"Copy that, Chik. Moving towards your position now. Hold tight, laddy." Zagon calls out to the others (or chronocoms them if they're out of voice-shot) that he is moving towards the pod to recollect Chiklet and to keep an eye out for Billow, if anyone wants to hop back in he will wait for them before firing up the truck and moving out. He will advance slowly, lights on, about 20m/turn so he will be able to stop on a centi-credit on this rain-slicked road. |

Chicklet places his flashlight beacon on the side of Legrange's escape pod, props the door and begins searching the pod's interior. He finds a few empty packets of cat food, but little else. He recognizes the name brand of cat food and recalls it is food for ordinary sized (small) house cats.
Zagon and Cha'kki move forward with the ground transport, with Greg Sharpe still riding in the back. The truck's powerful headlights cut through the rain and illuminate the escape pod Chicklet has taken refuge in. Zagon brings the vehicle to a stop just a few meters from Legrange's pod.
Through the rain, Zagon sees movement. Some sort of bony, segmented tentacle tipped with a pointed harpoon-like barb briefly comes into the light of his headlights and then withdraws from view into the rain behind the pod again.
Billow finds the wall of the dome and begins moving along it with his right hand touching the structure to keep his bearings. He finds the dome entrance first. Then he sees the headlights of the ground transport about 15 meters away off to his left. A large multi-legged shadowy form moves between him and the ground transport's headlights, however, blocking his way. His only recourse is to retreat a few meters into the dome entrance and wait for this creature to move on.
Chicklet suddenly hears something bump against the outside of his pod. The bump is followed by a loud scraping noise near the hatch where he placed his flashlight beacon.
[All your chronocoms are working fine. You can hear each other by chronocom easily and some of your shouting is also loud enough to be heard over the rain.] |

OOC: As big as the truck? Would my skills lead towards determine what this is as I gather more information?
"Guys... there is something out here. I think I'm safe in the dome. I would advise shutting yourself in until we can determine who or what it is." |
