You need to work on the anti-collision logic in the AI. I killed both of my opponents because they rammed the planet . I could do some online testing tonight if you want. I've got my IM client up. Just ping me if you're available.

Looking good: Took the Kingsnake out for a spin and got hammered by two Sathar fighters

Feature request: I want a way to lock my engines on at full power so I don't have to hold down the up arrow the whole time.

BTW: Typically I have the highest probability to have play-testing time Su,T,Th after 10-10:30 Eastern time. I'm typically up until midnight Mountain time hanging with my wife while she preps her classes for the next day.

Sunday night I shall be on-line and ready.
A couple of days ago, Kyle (Gurgalen) and I tested a version across the state. Worked great. Then the next day the targeting wasn't getting messaged properly. I checked everything, then changed targeting and shooting messages to send in guaranteed mode... Due to crappy graphics cards and a corrupted copy of windows, I won't have a second computer to test on a LAN here until we re-load my wife's desktop. That last worm nailed her. I cleaned it, but it damaged things. Brought it home on a jump drive. Can't change screen resolution without getting a BSoD.

Bummer about your wife's computer. It's stories like that that make me glad I spend most of my time in Linux land. You can still get hit but not as often. Once we get the kids to bed and my wife starts working on her class I'll contact you via messenger and we can try things out.

Okay, your anti-planet avoidance AI still needs some work. My opponents kept running into the planet when the battle was close by. Also, I found a bug. When I'm playing the sathar destroyer, it says my HP are 42. However, when I'm playing the UPF against the Sathar, it says the Sathar destroyer's HP are only 29.

Another thing. If I play a big ship that has lots of weapons, and then go an create a new scenario where I have a small ship with fewer weapons it still prints the extra weapons on the screen.

Actually I could use an astrophysicist to help come up with some good planet-avoiding algorythims....and then something that will keep ME from running into the darn things!
I will check up on the Auto version of the destroyer. Sounds like I have the HP wrong. Probably copied code from the Frigate.

I am afraid that we didn't really have the sathar Cruiser (BRAVO) class in the last edition. It is in the latest one.

It seems that I need to reset a large number of global variables any time you enter the Scenario editor. Either that, or the small ships need to initialize the globals that control the display to "0". Probably the former.
great work. I never caught those. I stopped work early (again) today and got a chance to totally re-vamp the seekers and torpedoes. The way they were coded, it was impossible to survive a hit from a seeker, cause it had 35 tries to kill you. I re-coded both it and the torps so that they look and sound much cooler as well as giving you a chance to survive a hit.

EDIT: Display global variables re-set in scenario builder. Autoplayer SAV destroyer and cruiser Hull Points corrected. Sathar still can't stay in orbit for squat though.

[88] It's fun!!! Though my computer can only hold 15 objects, any above 15 objects it messages me an error, and deletes. What is also crazy is that if I had a capital ship war (10 of the biggest UPF ships, and 5 of the biggest Sathar ships), it lags (stop & go with buffering)when the ships start shooting torpedoes and missles . Probably it might be my bad video card , lol.

Dang.. I can't think of anything intelligent to type.

Yes, the missiles use particle streams. That takes up some serious video memory. Eventually I will add a "graphics level" setting, and I will try to calm down the exhaust p-streams to once every other timestep or so. THat will cut them in half and they will still look good. I am fixing a major multiplayer issue involving targeting right now. Just about there on it too.
