http://starfrontiers.org/thefrontier/download/skimmer.zip This version features a sedan hovercraft straight from SF. Top speed is somewhere around 160 KPH. Controls are the right and left arrow keys, and the spacebar is the throttle.
http://starfrontiers.org/thefrontier/download/skimmer2.zip Controls are the same in this version, but the HOME key allows you to restart the game.
This version is a "high performance" version with more thrust, but the same handling. You must use more throttle control on the straightaways . Top speed is about 350 kph, and the maximum you can get to on the track is around 130kph. As soon as someone cares to send me some Hovercycle sprites, I will make a multiplayer hoverbike race game. Essentially I need bitmap images of hoverbikes that are at a scale of 10 pixels to the meter. The skimmer for instance, is 4.7 meters long, and has a image that is 47 pixels long. Leave the image outside the borders of the images blank so that they can be used as a transparency. Any city terrain maps such as Port Loren would be useful for doing some RPG game adventures, and of course if anyone cares to make us some nifty racetracks, that would be great too. Any element you can dream up, we can incorporate. We can create it as an iso view game, but that requires multi-angle view sprites for the vehicles, and terrain that is drawn in iso view.
