OK, new version posted! Added a few more buildings to the room, all of which will likely get completely re-worked in the future. I am just getting some methodology for developing parent objects so that similar objects can be quickly coded and added. The Vrusk character now has a crude stats display to let you know what his current stamina(not his STA Score, just as an exhaustion meter) as well as speed etc. The speed gauge is not calibrated to the scale yet, and direction will be adjusted to point north later. Right now the important new function is the run. I will get it in sync with the rules next, but for right now, it lets you run for a while, but if you run too long you have to wait until your stamina is above a minimum score(50% of STA score) before you can run again.
I just might add a Dralasite character or perhaps a human next.

| A fair-to-crude dralasite is up. He needs animation tweaking etc... but he will do for now. A Human is next I think. |

OK, next up...
You can shift between scenes with a dral and a vrusk with the 1&2 keys still, but now in the Vrusk character scene you have a forest of plants to the south, and just on the other side of the dome building you will see another Vrusk standing there that disappears again when you go around a corner. This is demonstrating the new line of sight feature. |

New addition:
Human figure. He is in the first scene with the Vrusk and the NPC Vrusk. His walk speed is not tuned in perfectly yet, but the sprite is a MUCH more elaborate animation than the others. Pretty darn good quality actually. |

Bug report:
If I am the Vrusk and press the 2 key or I am the dralasite and press the 1 key I get the following message (this one was from pressing the 2 as a Vrusk but the one for the Dral is similar):

Moving to previous room before the first room.
Looks like you need to catch that key press and ignore it if you are already in the room.
Also, the human figure doesn't disappear when there is a building between me and him (or is he part of "me" since my motion commands make him move as well and things fade out when he goes behind me?)
I have mixed feelings about the motion controls. It took me a second to figure them out. I was expecting the left arrow to move me left and the right arrow to move me right not turn me around. This gives finer movement but is not as intuitive.
Otherwise, looks great. |

How can you be the Vrusk? I can only be the human it seems. Then the two Vrusks follow along a little "north" of me - the first one walking out of that building in the beginning.
The Dralasite blobs alone... |

| When I run around it is the Vrusk that stays in the field of view. Maybe there is a keystroke that lets you switch between the two. They are linked and the second vrusk just follows the first one around. |

Let's see...If I have the arrow keys control the directions, I can only have 4 or 8 directions, and I need to use lots more keys. I currently have 12 directions of motion (with associated sprites). Perhaps you would like a "go to mouse click" control? I will impliment that next.
For now, the first decent quality Dralasite has been introduced. He is bunched in with the rest in the first room, and by himself in the second room that you can go to by hiting the 1 key. You go back to the first room by hitting the 2 key. I will update the character selection and add a room for each character. |

OK, new set-up. Only one test room, and the keys 1,2,and 3 select what type of character you will have (Yazirian is coming next, and will be #4). There are now several NPC's that will follow you around.
Current work list:
1. collisions with other characters. 2. character apearance modification. 3. Yazirian character. |

September 12: Totally different game at this point.
THis game has been integrated with the Vector ship game. The program mane is "The Frontier". All links now point to the one and only download for this game. Current version: has create your own character capability with loading and saving. There is the planetary "test room" as well as a rotating space station with holds and a bar full of characters to go to. THe dralasite is now armed, and other character types will soon have that ability among other abilities like inventory and moving/using objects. The scenery code is looking pretty good.
